Hello and welcome! I'm Emily Nader, the founder of Cedar Roots Counseling. With my Lebanese heritage, the Cedar Tree holds a special place in my heart as the symbol of Lebanon. But it signifies more than just a nation; it embodies strength, resilience, and hope. As your therapist, my aim is to help you channel these qualities and discover your inner strength in everyday life.

Hi, I'm Emily!

I want to help you feel confident and empowered to be your true, authentic self.

My journey into the field of therapy was a path I've always known I wanted to tread. Growing up as a first-generation American, I witnessed how mental health was often unspoken within my family of origin, despite the presence of anxiety and anger. During my pursuit of a Master's degree, I gained insights into how family dynamics affected my own mental health, relationships, and confidence in professional settings. Now, I'm deeply passionate about helping others unravel their past family and relationship dynamics, empowering them to break free from people-pleasing and anxiety cycles.

I earned my BA in Psychology from Baylor University and my MS in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in various settings, including private practice with young adults, Title 1 schools, and the military community. My true calling lies in supporting individuals in their twenties and thirties to build healthier relationships, stop people-pleasing, create healthy boundaries, manage anxious thoughts, and become the best versions of themselves. There's no greater joy than reflecting with a client on their journey and looking forward to a brighter future together.

When I'm not counseling, you'll find me immersed in nature, staying active, enjoying quality time with my husband & our dog, honing my cooking skills, or hosting game nights with friends. Now that you've gotten to know a bit about me, I'm eager to learn more about you!
